Made available to the public in March 2019, M365 is a holistic platform that encompasses Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility + Security.
Grounded in teamwork, simplicity, and intelligent security, M365 empowers customers to address their employees’ needs for a modern workplace.
I currently design for the Microsoft 365 Security team, primarily for the M365 Security Center portal.
This specialized cloud-based workspace provides integrated management capabilities for security specialists across various data sources.
It aims to protect organizations across identity, devices, data, apps, and infrastructure.
High-level project takeaways
Allowing time-bound access
I’m designing a feature that uses a time-bound control for on-demand access to roles and tasks. Admins will no longer need to manually revoke privileges each time a user requests access, and this aspect lowers the risk of users inadvertently compromising sensitive information.
Blocking web content
SecAdmins desire a way to monitor employee web usage and censor specific domains/URLs that don’t comply with company policies. I designed a way to set up, manage, and view data surrounding the blocking of web content.
Note: Due to the fact that my work at Microsoft is still in production/unreleased, I’m unable to share additional specifics at this time.
I’m happy to share more and dig into the processes that went into the making of these designs in person.
